A Little Bit More About Me
Raised by a hard-working, strong single mother I was taught at a very young age what it meant to be successful and financially free. Studying Finance throughout my college career, and quickly moving to New York's Financial District (immediately after graduation)—understanding money and how it works has always intrigued me.
I'm LaToya Joy Westbrooks, founder of Wealthly...and money is my mission. A Personal Finance Expert, and an established Finance professional with over 15+ years of experience in the banking and FinTech (financial technology) industry, I've worked with hundreds of individuals mapping their financial future.
Getting my initial start in the world of business finance, I worked with friends, family, and colleagues who often sought my advice in order to gain a greater understanding of personal finance—including how to eliminate debt, build wealth and invest in the stock market.
In the process of assisting people to better understand the true essence of gaining financial stability, I began a simple series on my personal Facebook account entitled #WealthBuildingWednesday. Through my content, I provided financial tips and tricks, and quickly realized that the minority and millennial communities were thirsty for greater financial education.
Inspired by the support received in the social realm, I formed "Wealthly", a personal finance literacy and coaching platform, where I now help millennials and couples reach their financial goals through strategy, support and technology.
Today you can find me teaching, coaching and speaking at conferences, centered around financial literacy.
